In 2005, Boyd Gaming bought the Barbary Coast and later purchased 4.7 acres of the hotel for $16,000,000. It was repainted again back to it's original color in the early 2000s. Somewhere in the late 90s, the burgundy color of the hotel tower was repainted white.
